Wandering: Nick Rose Reimagines Heartbreak

Nick Rose created this song based on a previous long-term relationship. The song is a reflection of his inner monologue, specifically focusing on the heartbreak he felt after the relationship ended. He explains that the first four bars of the song tell the story of a night where he woke up in a cold sweat, feeling anxious and lost. The song is his way of dealing with the pain and confusion of the breakup, as well as a way of expressing his emotions to the world.

The inspiration for this song came after difficult breakup. The first part of the song captures the feeling of being stuck in a void and not letting yourself get over the heartbreak. This leads into the chorus, which is an expression of being unable to escape the emotions and having to deal with them. Nick Rose acknowledges that it is okay to wander and feel lost during difficult times, but also remind yourself that you have to get to the root of the problem in order to move on.

He also describes the meaning of the song as being stuck in a limbo between searching outwardly for validation through social media and trying to find a distraction from the pain of a breakup. He compares the song to either a Red Bull Vodka or a dirtiest Sex on the Beach, explaining that it can be interpreted as either being too in your head to be at the bar or being so desperate to find someone that you are choosing one of these two options.

In a joking manner Nick says if you're not into white people singing over house beats, he understands that perspective. He suggests that hiking would go well with listening to Wandering and describes it as a mix between honey chipotle and a Sour Patch Kid or Warhead for its sweet and sour flavor.
