CT Music Culture: From Autotune To Drill To Showly's Upcoming Event

CT Music Culture: From Autotune To Drill To Showly's Upcoming Event

Jakai and Montana discuss the use of autotune in music and its effects on artist development. Jakai and Montana agreed that autotune can be helpful to artists who are trying to transition from a more hard-hitting rap sound to a more melodic one. They also talk about the accessibility of auto-tune and it's effects on artist development, as it makes it easier to record and distribute music. Jakai and Montana also discussed Connecticut and its pizza, with Montana claiming Connecticut pizza is the best in the country.

Montana shares that many Bridgeport rappers have embraced the drill sound, and that it is becoming increasingly popular in the state.  He believes it is in a good place, but thinks that drill artists should not be copying the sound of New York or overseas drill. Overall they both believe that this is a positive development for music in Connecticut and that it has opened up new opportunities for local artists.

They further discuss the ability of Snowprah to bring people out to events, and the alternative sound of Don Zio .  They then mention Showly and his freestyle abilities.
