Healing Together: Lebanon School Community Mourns the Loss of Camrynn Reynolds

A high school student who was reported missing over the weekend was discovered deceased in a forested area after a late-night accident, according to authorities. In a message to the Lyman Memorial High School community, Andrew J. Gonzalez, the superintendent of Lebanon Public Schools, identified the student as Camrynn Reynolds.

State police located the missing student and her vehicle near Norwich Avenue close to Savin Lake Park in Lebanon. A representative for the Connecticut State Police stated that the vehicle had veered off the road into a densely wooded area, where the student was found and pronounced deceased at the scene. The state police received a call from Reynolds' family members at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday expressing concerns about her whereabouts.

Gonzalez praised Reynolds as a cherished student and a bright member of the school community, expressing solidarity and support for her grieving family. He encouraged the school community to support each other during this difficult time and offered reassurance to students that their feelings are valid and that the school is there to provide guidance and a safe space for emotional expression.

Principal James Apicelli and Assistant Principal Susan Mike sent out a list of grief counseling options and cancellation notices to families, designating the library as the main gathering place for those in need of support. Additionally, therapy dogs will be available on-site, and substitute teachers have been called in to assist the teaching staff. While the soccer games scheduled for Monday will proceed as planned, the homecoming dance will be rescheduled.
